Deep Plane Facelift Surgery on the Gold Coast with Dr. Adam Honeybrook
As people age, factors such as gravity, sun exposure, and changes in facial volume can lead to visible signs like wrinkles, folds, and skin laxity. These changes affect individuals differently based on personal characteristics, lifestyle, and genetics.
The deep plane facelift is a surgical approach that addresses structural facial changes associated with aging. Unlike techniques that only tighten skin, this procedure repositions both skin and underlying tissue layers to improve facial support, while aiming to preserve each patient’s unique features.
At The Dental Boutique, we work with Dr. Adam Honeybrook to bring this advanced technique to our patients, offering a personalised and highly specialised approach to facial rejuvenation.

What Is a Deep Plane Facelift?
A deep plane facelift is a surgical procedure designed to address age-related changes in facial structure and skin laxity. Unlike traditional facelifts that primarily focus on tightening the skin, this technique involves elevating and repositioning both the skin and underlying muscle layers to provide structural support. The goal is to improve facial support while maintaining the patient’s natural features.

Benefits of the Deep Plane Facelift
Dr. Honeybrook's approach to the deep plane facelift aims to reposition tissues in the lower face and jowl area in accordance with the patient’s underlying facial structure. This technique may result in a more enduring lift, addressing concerns such as wrinkles, folds, and skin laxity. The procedure may be suitable for individuals of various ages and genders, depending on individual factors.
Recovery and Downtime
Recovery typically involves 2 weeks of social downtime, with most swelling and bruising subsiding within 10–14 days. Light activity can resume within a week, while more strenuous activities should be avoided for 4–6 weeks. Final results continue to refine over the next 3–6 months.

Frequently Asked Questions
Unlike traditional facelift techniques that primarily focus on tightening the skin, the deep plane facelift repositions deeper facial tissues, reducing tension on the incision lines and supporting optimal healing. This method may also help to maintain natural earlobe position and minimise visible scarring.
Suitability for a deep plane facelift is determined on an individual basis. This procedure may be an option for individuals across a wide age range, depending on factors such as skin elasticity, overall health, and personal goals.

Results of cosmetic procedures differ based on individual factors. Research shows that the results from a deep plane facelift can be long-lasting, often remaining visible for 10 to 15 years, depending on factors like genetics, lifestyle, and how your skin naturally ages. In one study, almost all patients reported looking significantly younger after surgery, with an average perceived age reduction of nearly 12 years. This technique’s ability to fully release and reposition facial tissue is believed to play a key role in the stability and longevity of the outcome.
