Bad breath?

Everybody’s had an experience of bad breath or halitosis, but often people don’t realise the first step towards fresher breath is a professional oral hygiene clean and program. Bad breath is caused by bacteria in the mouth that convert protein to volatile sulphur compounds. These bacteria reside on the tongue and in the gum crevices around the teeth.

The good news is bad breath can be treated with a visit to The Dental Boutique.

With a focus on teeth and gum health, commencing an oral hygiene maintenance program for bad breath will move you towards healthy gums and teeth and a confident smile. And the bonus? It has a direct effect on your inner health too. New research confirms periodontal disease (gum disease) and plaque build up is associated with an increased risk of heart or cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other health problems.

I WANT TO EXPERIENCE FRESH BREATH AND BETTER HEALTH

Wondering if your silver fillings should be replaced? The best way to know what’s right for you is to meet with a dentist from The Dental Boutique.

In keeping with commitment to the highest level of quality and care for our patients, we only use premium bonded tooth coloured restorations.

Why is that great for people who want to replace their silver fillings?

Amalgams are rough and attract harmful bacteria responsible for tooth decay and gum disease. They also have the potential to put you at risk of cardiovascular disease. Silver fillings have been found to weaken teeth, with bacteria finding a home within the cracks of teeth.

Don’t worry about your silver fillings any longer. Book a time and meet with a dentist at The Dental Boutique to discuss premium bonded tooth coloured restorations and transform your smile.

I WANT TO EXPERIENCE A CONFIDENT, BEAUTIFUL SMILE

Wondering about the alternatives to unsightly silver fillings? Want an upgrade? Let’s help you reach your dental goals and enjoy better health.

Advancements in dental technology mean there’s no need to suffer with broken, weakened, or unattractive teeth because of amalgam, or silver, fillings. The solution?

Tooth coloured restorations.

Safe for your health and virtually invisible, composite (or tooth coloured) fillings are free from mercury and other threatening toxins. Bonded to the tooth structure in layers, strong, and visually appealing, they are the ideal alternative to silver fillings.

With your very best interests at heart, we’ll help you gain other great benefits to tooth coloured restorations:

  • Fillings are colour-matched with your teeth, making them appear completely natural.
  • Original tooth structure is maintained because less tooth is removed
Durable, with the potential to last for many years.
  • Seal gaps between the dental restoration and tooth, reducing the likelihood of decay.
  • Regain original tooth strength.
Meet with one of The Dental Boutique team and we’ll identify the ideal approach to tooth coloured restorations for silver filling replacements.

Porcelain crowns can be a solution for broken teeth, closing gaps between teeth, for dark teeth, and crooked teeth. Suitable for fixing broken molar teeth, teeth that have had root canal treatment, or to rehabilitate a bite, crowns are frequently recommended when heavy chewing forces are involved and when there is very little tooth left to work with.

Do you really need a dental crown?

While dental crowns might seem like the only option, crowns are not a conservative treatment for fixing teeth. Placing crowns on teeth involves taking away 0.5mm to 2mm of tooth on all surfaces of the teeth. This leaves a peg of tooth onto which the crown seats. In some cases, a dental crown may be the only solution. So what is best for you?

The only way to know if you need a dental crown is to complete a comprehensive assessment of your specific needs. It’s the approach we take with all patients. That way we can understand the reason which led to the tooth breaking down in the first place, and address this first. Experience shows this may indicate a preferable – and more conservative – treatment option, such as porcelain veneers. Ultimately, it also results in better long term outcomes.

Same day crowns and ceramic options: are they an option for you?

The Dental Boutique offers same day crowns as an option for specific circumstances. Same day crowns work like regular crowns, only they can be fitted in just a single visit.

Same day crowns differ from regular dental crowns in that no impression is taken of the tooth. Instead, a camera takes images of the tooth and creates a 3D model with precise measurements. Unlike other dentists with a similar service, we utilize highly trained dental ceramists to fabricate your crown on the same day using laboratory quality milling machines and expertise. No temporary required and less visits means less pain and time wasted with multiple appointments. Finally, the crown is attached to your tooth – all in one visit.

I WANT TO EXPERIENCE A SMILE I LOVE

a girl sat in a chair, terrified that she had come for a tooth extraction

For both patients and dentists, tooth extractions aren’t a preferred treatment option. However, if your dentist prescribes this pathway for a tooth, or several teeth, we educate our patients to see this as an opportunity for change.

The need for tooth extraction usually arises from decay caused by bacteria and less than ideal oral health. Fortunately, the power to change is in your hands. Once we’ve taken steps to extract your tooth using effective pain management, we’ll work with you to develop the skills, tools, and practices that lead to your best oral health.

Starting with education, awareness, and support at regular visits to proactively maintain your oral health, over time, we’ll work together to bring about change that makes a meaningful difference in your health, life and confidence.

As part of this program, we’ll develop a dental treatment plan too. Your dentist will discuss options which may involve cosmetic dentistry, including dental crowns, bridges, and dentures.

While this might seem daunting at the early stages, we’ve supported many patients to move beyond the initial challenge of a tooth extraction, to gain new life and confidence. All extractions are completed by our maxillofacial surgeon on site

LET’S HELP YOU REACH YOUR GOALS

a photograph of a patient getting root canal treatment

The need for root canal therapy is a sign that a little time and care is needed to strengthen your oral health and the practices that support it.

Although root canal therapy might sound daunting – it’s often perceived negatively by patients – treatment techniques have advanced considerably, making it a manageable and effective treatment.

The main benefit of root canal therapy is it provides the means by which a tooth can be saved. In most cases, particularly where the infection is caught early, all or part of the tooth can be retained. This is ideal, as it provides the foundation from which the tooth can be strengthened again.

If you’re concerned about the health of a tooth or teeth, the very best thing you can do is meet with your dentist at The Dental Boutique. Delays to seeking treatment almost always equate to a corresponding increase in costs and treatment complexity. Regardless of the state of your oral health – or an individual tooth – you’ll be supported to reach your best.

Worried about root canal therapy? Let’s support you through treatment so you can enjoy better oral health.

TALK TO US ABOUT ROOT CANAL THERAPY

Have you ever had the experience of dental work needing to be redone? If you answered yes, you’re not alone.

Much of the time and money spent doing dentistry is redoing dentistry, costing patients time, money, and discomfort.

The Dental Boutique maintains an uncompromising commitment to excellence. At the heart of our philosophy is a commitment to doing the best thing by our patients. It’s why we approach every person as an individual. With its focus on excellence and better results for patients, biomimetic dentistry allows us to fulfil our commitment to you.

How does biomimetic dentistry work?

Fillings leak around the edges, teeth break around large fillings, and old crowns fail. Dental failures like this allow bacteria to rot teeth away from the inside. The outcome? Root canal therapy or tooth loss.

Biomimetic dentistry stops this cycle.

With an accurate assessment of the problem teeth or tooth, only diseased and broken tooth structure is removed gently. Healthy tooth is left intact and disinfected, instead of being ground down. The missing tooth is then replaced and bonded with restorations to mimic tooth structure and make the tooth strong, reducing the need for root canals and extractions. Where caps or crowns may have been used, porcelain on lays are used instead.

Want restored teeth that stronger and last longer? Convert to the benefits of biomimetic dentistry at The Dental Boutique.

I WANT TO EXPERIENCE A SMILE I LOVE

a dentist with a dental x-ray

Few of us go through life without impacting our teeth in some way. Whether it’s through lack of opportunity or care, missing one or more teeth, can not only detract from your appearance; it can also lead to difficulties with chewing, eating, and sometimes even speaking clearly.

A dental bridge can help.

Cosmetically – and in terms of health and comfort, a dental bridge can be a solution to replacing lost teeth. A dental bridge can also prevent the opposing teeth from over erupting, a development which leads to further loss of function and jaw pain.

How does a bridge work?

A dental bridge is bonded onto adjacent teeth permanently, restoring tooth function and appearance. Bridges work by crowning the teeth on either side of the space created by tooth loss. The crowns are connected to teeth that occupy the space.

Bridges are permanent fixtures and simulate the shape and contour of original teeth.

Wondering if a dental bridge is right for you? With an experienced and caring team, advanced technology, and an uncompromising commitment to doing the right thing by you, we’ll develop a dental treatment solution that strengthens and enhances your smile.

I WANT TO EXPERIENCE A STRONGER SMILE

Tooth loss and dental treatment costs options shouldn’t never be reasons for not doing the best thing for your oral health. If your bite or chew function is affected by missing teeth, removable dentures provide a cosmetic dental solution that could help you enjoy life again.

There are different types of dentures, including full or partial dentures.

Standard full dentures comprise a full set of upper and lower teeth. They are made from pliable material and use suction to stay in place.

The pliability of dentures and the movement a patient may experience are reasons standard full dentures require regular visits to the dentist. Dentures of this type are susceptible to shrinkage, which over time results in an ill-fitting prosthetic and jawbone atrophy.

Partial dentures are dentures that replace only a limited number of teeth, rather than an entire set. Partial dentures are a single piece fitting that is supported by the remaining teeth and gums. By contrast to full dentures, partial dentures are more secure and considerably more comfortable.

Dentures with implants? The answer to dentures that move

For people with very few teeth, or teeth which cannot be saved, dentures fitted to the gum can be a life-giving solution. Implants provide an anchor to which dentures can be fixed, overcoming the challenge of dentures that move, cause discomfort, and shrinkage. Although this approach takes longer to implement and requires more investment in time and finance, long term it is more comfortable and enhances everyday experiences of biting, chewing, speaking and smiling.
